Recommendation of the Legislative Review Committee approving the 2000 Legislative Initiatives.
1. Allow municiplaities the opportunity to pass on the actual cost for delinquent payments on special assessments.
2. Allow non-home rule municipalities to have access to sales tax information for individual retailers.
3. Allow non-home rule municipalities to seek referendum approval for up to a 1/2% local sales tax for capital improvements.
4. Allow municipal libraries with independently elected boards to approve and file their own tax levy ordinance with the County Clerk.
5. Require that the municipal share of the state income tax be directly depositied into the Local Government Distributive Fund where it will be automatically distributed to municpalities.
6. Grant a state income tax exemption on all municipal debt issued within the state.
7. In regard to the Hotel/Motel Tax, allow non-home rule municipalities the same isbursement guidelines as home rule municipalities.
