SA 217 Engineering Resource Associates Contract Amendment No. 5 |
Reflecting an increase of $257,687.00 for design engineering services. (DISTRICT #4) |
originally started at $250,000, escalated to $438,000, and now stands at $695,000. In |
response to BOLI's and Trustee Tross' concerns over the value of the contract, Wes |
Anderson reviewed the time line of the project and the programming of the project in the |
C.I.P. In 2000, the project started as a one-phase job. In 2006, it is essentially an |
eight-phase project. The reason for the multiple phases is the separation of storm water |
management, sanitary sewer replacement/reconnection and the roadway improvements |
for the special assessment. |
BOLI's second concern regards the time lag of the contract amendments coming to the |
committee. This was reiterated by both Molly O'Toole and Jim Hogan. Dave Dratnol |
reviewed the new policy concerning timely submittals of engineering contract |
amendments to BOLI and the B.O.T. The policy will be if an engineering contract |
requires an amendment that changes the scope of work (including additions, |
modifications, or deletions), that amendment will be brought to the appropriate |
committee/board as soon as engineering and the consultant firm have agreed to any |
changes to the contract. |
Rod Beadle of Engineering Resource Associates explained the additional work involved |
in splitting the work into multiple phases. This covers the additional work effort for |
surveying, drafting, and engineering related to splitting the project into various |
components including storm water, sanitary sewer, and roadway work. |
After reviewing the scope of work changes and the new policy to be put in effect, BOLI |
made a motion to accept this amendment. |
It was moved by O'Brien, seconded by Hogan, that this matter be approved. The |
motion carried by a voice vote |
