A review of the current ordinance. |
Chairperson O'Brien asked Deputy Chief Cuny for an opinion on changing the ordinance |
to allow the Village to regulate each taxi. Deputy Chief Cuny explained that the prior |
ordinance was written that way. As the taxicab companies grew bigger, it became very |
unmanageable. The bigger companies may have 100 cabs, but only a certain number |
will be licensed in Lombard. The nearest taxi may not be licensed, but the company is. |
If there are complaints the Police Department investigate them. He went on to say that |
the Police Department recommendation is to stay with the ordinance that is now in |
place. |
