Johnson: cited report from Civiltech. Their recommendation is to widen the road.

Soderstrom: on east side by Brown's Chicken there is a curb cut/will this still be in the

plan? Johnson: I did not see it. Soderstrom: staff would like to see this remain if

possible. There are other developments that we may be seeing in the future that could

be effected by this. Bedard: would right in/right out be approved there? Soderstrom:

yes. Schwarz: what is the time table on this? Johnson: I do not believe there is one.

Would depend on funding available. Would have to be put in to the budget and capital

improvement plan. Soderstrom: funding for the project is going to be attempted to be

obtained through DuPage Mayors and Managers (grant). Timing will depend on

obtaining the grant. Burg: yes, if we get a grant it will move this up in priority.

Schwarz: have heard that people are using Homeland Defense funds to make

improvements to traffic signals (in case of power outage) that would keep them going.

Kuehl: just did grind and overlay at Roosevelt and will be redoing this? Burg: this was

just because it desperately needed to be done. This project will involve widening the

road also. Lepins: grinding would be a relatively small part of the project anyway,

correct? Burg: yes. Gron: create new left turns at Edwards and Morris? Cuny: yes

and we thoroughly endorse this. Look at Main & Wilson and what that used to be.

About the 10th highest accident location in Lombard. Gron: what about street lighting?

Johnson: will probably be attached to the signal arm post. Schwarz: are we going to

approach the owners of the shopping center for any funds? Soderstrom: that was

talked about but has not been done. There could be a possibility of some contribution,

but nothing we are planning on. Gron: what about Main from Wilson through St.

Charles, any improvements in the offing? Burg: put off due to lack of funding.

Schwarz: I endorse the proposed plan as presented by Civiltech and staff

recommendation (curb cut between Morris and Ann on east side of street be limited to a

right in/right out only).

Lepins: anything on the speed study? Soderstrom: Dane gave me something at the

October meeting, but I forgot to bring it tonite. Cuny: I will supply committee members

with September and October. Schwarz: ever had the speed trailer on Jackson around

Addison? Cuny: we did before, but we have not had any complaints from that area.

Cuny: do have some funding from IDOT to have some traffic officers out there/grant

pays their salaries for three years. Soderstrom: then the village takes over their

salaries. Kuehl: we will be increasing our force by 3? Cuny: yes. Schwarz: have we

had any new "Top 10" intersections? Cuny: No Johnson: most of them are State

intersections.

Bedard: from time to time banner appears on corner of Main & Wilson. Sometimes

block the view of traffic. Just please take a look at it. Johnson: because of the berm

there, we need to position it where it is. Bedard: maybe raise it up? Johnson: already

high, but will look at it. Bedard: any official recommendation of Rte. 53? Soderstrom: 3

lanes throughout the Village. Bedard: what about "No Left Turns"? Soderstrom: will

remain the same for now; dependant upon acceptance of 3 lanes and signalization that

would be installed. Harrison is already pork chopped so that will not change. Will either

be Madison or Charles Lane. Schwarz: IDOT still working on first phase of report?

Soderstrom: I believe it is.
