Solid Waste Contract - Update |
Karls reviewed the monthly tonnage chart. He also commented that the market for |
recyclables is still way down. Bartt asked what Waste Management is doing with the |
collected recyclables. Karls answered that they are still selling them because Waste |
Management does have some in-house capability for some processing. |
Clean Air Counts |
Gorman reported that at the last Clean Air Counts meeting they discussed green |
cleaning techniques and solutions. |
2009 Recycling Extravaganza |
Gorman informed the Committee members that Requests for Proposals are going out. |
Adams requested that if possible the information be sent to the Committee members |
earlier. Gorman added that the RFP is by pounds price and it specifies that they need to |
bring their own manpower. Adams pointed out that "a forklift" needs to be added in |
Section 1. |
By Committee consensus all other recyclables collected will be the same as last year. |
Recycling Education Grant Application, Willowbrook High School |
Approving a grant in the amount of $1,720.15. |
