with committee members present. Kuehl: employees using permit parking/do they pay

a fee? Hulseberg: no, we do not charge them. Kuehl: has there been any problem

with truck traffic at that one store? Hulseberg: they put out cones on the days the

trucks are coming. Issue has been addressed. Gron: there may be more parking to the

west? Hulseberg: on Orchard Terrace. Soderstrom: is there a time limit on the permit

parking? Hulseberg: no. Soderstrom: I am concerned that there will be a lack of

parking in the future if it is mostly taken up with permit and business parking.

Hulseberg: the busiest time in this lot is Monday-Friday. Can give committee a three

month white paper report to follow up on this if desired. Glennon: this is actually just

formalizing what is now being done out there. Soderstrom: I want the 2-hour parking

limit time strictly enforced as stated in the memo. Gron: picking up 3 more than what

we are giving up. Kuehl: what if at some time we get caught and everyone shows up

and there are not enough parking spots for the permits? Hulseberg: we have routinely

done this and do not have any problems. There are different peak times for different

individuals.

does this address the spots on the north side? Hulseberg: this is only the spots on the

south side. Soderstrom: last item - I do not understand the problem. Hulseberg:

explained to the committee (over stack of cars). Kuehl: in Naperville on Washington

they removed all of the on street parking to help traffic flow.

Hulseberg: reviewed this item with the committee. 100 second cycle on the whole

network. Lincoln Ave. - vehicles pulling out. Liz & St. Charles (s/w corner) green

activated first for w/b movement. Also, remove parking spots on north side of St.

Charles. Signalizing for Elizabeth & St. Charles. RR tracks. There is now lost time.

s/b on Liz is not a significant amount of traffic. Gron: did you take the possible addition

of Walgreens into this whole equation? Hulseberg: that is why we started to look at this

whole intersection. Lepins: you are saying people will not try to turn left out of there

during peak times, and I say people will do it. They will pull out into traffic and sit there

until someone lets them out. Javier: Walgreens tends to feed off of local people. They

are usually right in/right out. Soderstrom: why is there not an issue of no left turn here,

when at the Pines we have it so that traffic can not exit out on the Roosevelt. Rd.?

Hulseberg: we had to go with the conditions in order to get Walgreens to commit to this

site. Soderstrom: what are we looking at as far as prices? Hulseberg: we are getting

prices from consultants. This is just a demonstration to let you know the situations and

solutions we are looking at. Schwarz: is the existing Walgreens on Main St. going to

remain open? Hulseberg: no, it will be closing. Schwarz: need to accommodate traffic

at the tracks with the different trains if you are bringing more traffic into this area. Needs

to be addressed. Signalizing between RR crossing gates and Elizabeth intersection. No

margin of error is acceptable between cars and trains.
