Village of Lombard Legistar System

The regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Lombard

held on Thursday, April 15, 1999 in the Board Room of the Village Hall was called to

order by President William J. Mueller at 7:40 pm. Upon roll call by Clerk Gerhardt, the

following were:

Present: President Mueller, Trustees Borgatell, Tross, Schaffer, DeFalco & Kufrin

Absent: Trustee Jaugilas

Quorum Present

President Mueller introduced the re-elected Trustee Richard Tross of District 2 and

newly elected Trustees Steven Sebby of District 4 and Ken Florey of District 5.

The Star Spangled Banner was sung by Glenbard East student Beth Heise place of the

Pledge of Allegiance.

Clerk Gerhardt read a Proclamation regarding Student Government Day, the

Proclamation was presented to Glenbard East Advisors Jim Carter and Phil Zimo by

President Mueller.

Clerk Gerhardt introduced the Glenbard East students who would conduct tonight's

meeting. President Mueller presented each of the students with a certificate of

appreciation as they took their places on the podium.

The rest of the meeting was conducted by Student President Garrettson Blight, Student

Clerk Jennifer Christopher and the Student Trustees.

Public Participation (15 minute time limit)

The following Proclamations were read by Student Village Clerk Jennifer Christopher:

B. Proclamation - National Youth Service Days (April 16-17, 1999)

C. Proclamation - National Volunteer Week (April 18-24, 1999)

Student President Blight presented the Proclamation to Ellen Balsamo, Administrative

Assistant.

D. Proclamation - Lombard Pride Week (April 18-24, 1999)

Student Trustee Richard Calvario reported for Trustee DeFalco that the Public Works

Committee had discussed the Fill the Gap Sidewalk Program and that Public Works will

contact people to determine if they want sidewalks. The split with the residents will be

50% for this program as it is in the 50/50 Sidewalk Program. The Committee also

approved the Change Order on tonight's Consent Agenda. The Overhead Sewer

Program totals were discussed. Trustee DeFalco said that it had been an honor to

serve on the Public Works Committee.

It was moved by Trustee Kufrin Jr., seconded by Trustee Borgatell, to pass the

Consent Agenda, to suspend the rules, waive first reading and pass on second

reading, waive competitive bidding and award contracts approve and adopt

resolutions as needed for the following items and as read by the Clerk on the

Consent Agenda. The motion carried by the following vote:

Student Director of Community Development announced the annual Business

Recognition Program and the Catagories and Nominees. Famous Liquor and Deli was

the winner of the 1999 Business Pride Award, The Property Improvement Business

Recognition Plaque was won by Buca di Beppo. The Property Stewardship Award went

to Brust Funeral Home, the Major Milestone Award to Telesis Design Group and the

Distinguished Developer Award was won by General Cinema.

Student President Garrettson Blight thanked Lombard for furnishing their students a

wonderful and fun-filled day and suggested the students offer a round of applause for

those who made it possible. President Mueller on behalf of the Village Board and the

Village Staff thanked the students and faculty for their participation and contribution to

Student Government Day.
