President Bill Mueller in attendance.

President Mueller informed the committee that a tentative agreement/solution had been

reached with IDOT concerning Rte. 53. Wanted committee to be aware that this was

going to be in the papers tomorrow. From North Ave. to St. Charles Rd. Rte. 53 will be

5 lanes (with a center turn lane). Should be signals at Meadow and Rte. 53 and

Madison and Rte. 53. Will be a public hearing this Spring. Will keep the intersections

closed through that time (right turn only). Glen Ellyn is also closing down 2 of theirs.

Will review again in 5 years/concerned about signals at these 2 locations. No pedways

or curbs except between North Avenue and St. Charles Road.

It was moved by Pool, seconded by Schwarz, to approve. The motion carried by

a voice vote

Residential Traffic Speed and Enforcement

Cuny: reviewed the item enclosed with agenda packets. In November, added 2 officers

through the IDOT grant. Speed trailer is broken at this time but should be working

shortly. Bedard: asked about the graphing for the report. Cuny: should be done by

next meeting. Schwarz: in reference to "school zone hours", is it the amount of hours

that these are patrolled? Cuny: yes. Schwarz: do you actually clock on the 20 mph

zone? Cuny: yes. Schwarz: is there any sort of leeway with this? Cuny: yes. Pool:

issue warnings and then if they do it again, they get a ticket? Cuny: yes. Gron:

miscalculation on DUI's from October to November? Cuny: not really, there was some

data entry errors, but the total for the year is 300.

Soderstrom: this item was tabled from last meeting. Ellen could not be at this meeting

tonight, has another meeting. Would like us to table this until February. Please give

items in writing to Patty pertinent to anything that you would like to have the applicant

bring to the next meeting.

It was moved by Pool, seconded by Kuehl, that this matter be table. The motion

carried by the following vote:

Gron, Bedard, Pool, Schwarz, Kuehl and Lepins

Soderstrom: Johnson is not here tonight so asked Burg his opinion. Burg concurred

with Johnson. Soderstrom: staff is recommending that we keep signage the same as it

was.

It was moved by Pool, seconded by Gron, that this matter be recommended to

the Board of Trustees for approval. The motion carried by the following vote:

Soderstrom: reviewed copy of memo regarding railroad intersections. Would like this

committee to review and recommend that we adopt the same guidelines as the County.

Reviewed that bullet points in the letter from the County referring to the grade crossings.

Burg: will keep this on a one year basis. That is what we will have as periodic.

Bedard: would rather see every six months. Written report will be submitted to the

committee and the county every six months.

It was moved by Bedard, seconded by Pool, that this matter be recommended to

the Board of Trustees for approval. The motion carried by the following vote:

Bill Pool would like to see us paint SCHOOL by all of our schools. Schwarz: there are

some specifics that we use as guidelines. Asked John Burg to bring these to the next

meeting.
